iPhone developer team has released new version of Redsn0w / Redsnow to the public that allows you to do untethered jailbreak for the iPad (v1). This one is, again, not compatible with the iPad 2 and only iPad 1 is supported. This guide is different from the one we released few days back (tethered ipad 4.3.3 jailbreak) as this one is untethered in nature which does not requires you to jailbreak your device again after every reboot. Also, this guide works on both PC and MAC platforms as the developer behind Redsnow is fond of both operating systems.
Follow these steps very carefully. First, download the latest firmware (iPad 4.3.3 IPSW) to your desktop. Update your iPad to the latest firmware using iTunes if you have not already updated to the latest version. To forcefully do an update, select your iPad from the left sidebar and hold the left shift key (alt button in Mac) and press the “restore” button. Then browse the IPSW file you just downloaded.
Download Redsn0w 0.9.6rc15 from the link given below and start it.
Click Next and select “install cydia”.
Now, turn your iPad off and plug it in to the computer before you click on the next button. Now, you will be told to enter DFU mode. To do that, hold the power button for 1 second and then while holding it, press the home button as well. Then, after few seconds, while holding the home button, release the power button. Installation should begin now.
That is it. Wait for sometime for the Redsnow utility to do the magic for you. In the end, your iPad will reboot and you will have a fully jalibroken iPad with Cydia installed.
